Dark Shadows (1966-1971) was a soap opera with an emphasis on the supernatural that has garnered a cult following in the years since it left the air. The introduction of Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) catapulted the series to enormous success, capturing the public's imagination in a way that continues to endure today. Happy Birthday, Dark Shadows!
Dark Shadows debuted on this day in 1966. To celebrate, I screencapped a video included on the 2nd to last disc of the final DVD release (number 26, if you're curious) ... it plays after the wrap-up of the series narrated by Roger Davis and based on the 1971 TV Guide article written by Sam Hall.
The clips cover every important storyline of the entire series, including most of the main characters, all scored to a super groovy cover of the theme (included on the 30th anniversary CD, if you're curious).
