Previously on Dark Shadows: The Comic Strip Series:
Barnabas, Quentin, and Angelique I Ching'ed their way back to 1897 to prevent Count Petofi from destroying all their lives. In the process they encountered Quentin's old flame (sorry, sorry), the phoenix Laura Collins. After being taunted by Barnabas, Laura used her powers of fire, augmented by Count Petofi, to whisk Barnabas off to 1840, where he was soon joined by Julia.
Meanwhile, in 1897, Angelique and Quentin aren't through with the battle. Just as Laura seems to have the upper hand (or wing, or whatever a phoenix has to grab with), Angelique summons her own doppelganger: the witch Cassandra, who has been hanging around 1968/69 after escaping destruction in a parallel world. (Keep an eye on the timeline; all this playing around with time and parallel worlds is going to have consequences down the road ...)
Now Laura exists in a timeless netherworld, but she is aware of the past, the present ... and the future. And she means to be free ...
Also, check out Black Forest, my first novel that I'm crowd funding through a publisher called Inkshares. I think it will appeal to Dark Shadows fans: there's ghosties, ghoulies, demons, and Gothic atmosphere to spare. I'm describing it as "Shirley Jackson meets Call Me By Your Name". You can pre-order your copy here: www.inkshares.com/books/black-forest
Dark Shadows (1966-1971) was a soap opera with an emphasis on the supernatural that has garnered a cult following in the years since it left the air. The introduction of Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) catapulted the series to enormous success, capturing the public's imagination in a way that continues to endure today. This online fanzine will provide a place for rare photos, articles, stories, artwork, and other multimedia as a tribute to the magic and mystery that is Dark Shadows.
