I've posted before on the "Aging of Barnabas Collins" sequences dramatized in the original series, House of Dark Shadows, and the 1991 revival; not exactly sure I can clearly articulate why this particular part of the story fascinates me so much, but apparently I'm not alone, as it has shown up in thee different stories in the DS mythos and was photographed extensively both in 1967 and again during the film of HoDS. Certainly Dick Smith's amazing makeup skills are to thank,at least partially. Here are a few examples of Smith's handiwork, and a link to his website where he discusses the original series as well as HoDS.

Dark Shadows (1966-1971) was a soap opera with an emphasis on the supernatural that has garnered a cult following in the years since it left the air. The introduction of Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) catapulted the series to enormous success, capturing the public's imagination in a way that continues to endure today. This online fanzine will provide a place for rare photos, articles, stories, artwork, and other multimedia as a tribute to the magic and mystery that is Dark Shadows.
