1841 Parallel Time: Melanie and Julia
Would Parallel Time Julia Collins have existed if (Dr.) Julia (Hoffman) Collins hadn't braved the forces of time and space to pretend to be Barnabas' -- ahem -- sister? Or is it all just a wild coincidence? Discuss!

And It's Hard to Say Goodbye, My Love ...
Since we talked about first appearances during our anniversary celebration the other day, let us now turn our eye toward those memorable exits that so broke our hearts (or didn't).
Poor Collinwood caretaker Matthew Morgan. He just cared too much. For Collinwood mistress Elizabeth, at any rate. And after attempting to save the family's reputation by chopping Victoria Winters into pieces with an ax, the vengeful ghost of Bill Malloy, his first victim, Josette Collins, apparently feeling slightly guilty for consigning Vicki to the noose a hundred and seventy-five years before, and the Widows, who were just hanging around with nothing better to do, did him in.
The world's best mother - by Collinsport standards - Laura Murdoch Stockbridge Collins Collins Collins Collins Collins went up in flames, during her tenure(s) at Collinwood, not once, but twice.
Once monsters took over Collinsport by late 1968, there wasn't much for a young hero ingenue type to do, so, just ahead of his alter ego, 1790s cadabout town Nathan Forbes, Joe Haskell descended gracefully into madness and was packed off to Windcliff asylum for a nice long rest.
Satan's little helper, sucked back to hell when both his schemes for world domination failed ... not with a bang, but a whimper.
Originally a hard-bitten, Eva Arden type, Maggie Evans eventually took over for Victoria Winters as the Collinwood governess and all-purpose victim type. Eventually the supernatural proved too much for the once-hardbitten hashslinger, and she rode off into the post-sunset with new boyfriend Sebastian Shaw, soon to reunite with old boyfriend Joe Haskell in a cozy padded cell for two at Windcliff.
One time rivals, uneasy partners in crime, and then bestest bosom buddies, vampire Barnabas and confidante Dr. Julia Hoffman walked out of the drawing room and out of our lives a whole forty episodes or so before the series actually went off the air.
Because she did it the most.
