Ah, yes ... this infamous shot, my favorite of all Dark Shadows studio shots, and as far as I know it only exists in black and white (though both the original Dark Shadows Almanac and KLS' recent Return to Collinwood contain a pic from the same shoot, minus Vicki, and it's in glorious color). To me, it sums up everything that is awesome about DS (including blonde witches in dark wigs), but mostly excess, excess, excess!
If anyone out there (somehow) possesses an actual color copy, and not just a colorized print I scanned from the 1990 MPI Catalog, I would love a copy! Until then ...
(And Cassandra's dress is bright RED, not that oogy gray ...)
Dark Shadows (1966-1971) was a soap opera with an emphasis on the supernatural that has garnered a cult following in the years since it left the air. The introduction of Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) catapulted the series to enormous success, capturing the public's imagination in a way that continues to endure today. This online fanzine will provide a place for rare photos, articles, stories, artwork, and other multimedia as a tribute to the magic and mystery that is Dark Shadows.
